The Avalon program provides a safe, stable, and highly structured environment by combining intensive staffing, a milieu culture, mental health interventions and behavior modification. Youth are assessed at in-take and receive on-going evaluation. Individual, group, family, and milieu therapy is a part of everyday life. Youth also receive case management, medication support and monitoring, expressive arts, special education, crisis intervention, behavior management and skill-building. The goal of the program is to maximize a resident’s level of functioning to enable them to engage in a pattern of everyday living like that of non-disabled peers. We strive to increase a resident’s abilities to live in a less restrictive environment with less intensive staffing, less formal structure, and more relaxed programming.

Join our team as: Clinical Manager – Avalon/Non Public School

The Clinical Manager is responsible to ensure high quality services and effective daily operations for assigned clinical team. Duties include clinical supervision and oversight of all treatment planning and implementation, program and resource development and management, personnel management including hiring, evaluation, coaching and training. The Clinical Manager provides leadership congruent with agency policy, values and mission provides management reports as required, and leads program committees or functions as assigned.

Shifts Available
Contract Position- Hours/Days TBD, Estimated 2.5 month term @ 12/hrs per week.

Salary Rang
In accordance with California law, the expected salary range for this California position is between $48.41 and $78.86 per hour. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

What You Bring to The Table (requirements):

    • M.A. or M.S.W. Degree.
    • Current CA Board of Behavioral Services (BBS) license as a LCSW/MFT clinician for two (2) years, or able to meet this and other BBS supervisor requirements within six (6) months, if supervising staff who are accruing hours toward licensure from the BBS.
    • Must be certified to conduct a CANS/ANSA assessment within 90 days of employment.
    • Demonstrated cultural responsiveness in working with diverse families and communities.
    • Demonstrated ability in using a strength-based, culturally responsive approach to supervision, participant and community service.
    • Experience in and demonstrated ability in behavioral, crisis management and family/individual/group therapy skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to utilize de-escalation techniques that align with the trauma informed care model as part of intervention strategy for working with participants in crisis who are responding to triggers/stressors and/or demonstrating early indicators of distress.
    • Clean driving record: current CA Driver’s License or ability to obtain within 10 days after hire.
    • Basic computer and keyboarding competence with the ability to use Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Access to dependable transportation available and personal car insurance.

    Preferred

    • Five (5) years of experience in a wraparound, community based, residential day treatment or another milieu program.
    • Two (2) years of supervisory/management experience in a clinical setting.
    • Experience with or knowledge of designing, supervising, monitoring, changing, and discontinuing individualized behavioral health interventions.
    • Experience with relevant evidence-based practices (e.g., CBT, DBT, trauma-informed approaches such as ARC).
    • Fluency in prevailing language(s) of the communities served.
